Basic online training course “Protection Against Chemical Weapons” (Russian)

Content: 

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), in cooperation with the International Rescuers Training Center of the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, is conducting a basic online training course within the scope of Article X of the Chemical Weapons Convention.

The course will be held in Russian, and is designed for both civilian and military first responders who are involved in responding to emergencies involving release of Chemical Warfare Agents or Toxic Industrial Chemicals or for individuals involved in CBRN emergency preparedness (i.e. Civil Defence, Fire Department, Police, Military CBRN Units, HAZMAT teams, medical responders, etc.). The course will be held in Russian. 

Content:

The course will cover the basics of protection against chemical weapons. Participants will learn to plan and build appropriate responses for protection, detection, rescue and decontamination operations in contaminated areas, giving them the tools to respond to incidents involving Chemical Warfare Agents or Toxic Industrial Chemicals.

Aims: 

The course will cover:

  • Conceptual aspects of protection against chemical weapons
  • Technical support available to member states
  • Methods to conduct rescue works in the chemical contamination zone
