The Government of Mexico will organise this seminar in conjunction with the OPCW with the objective of increasing national capacity to comply with obligations assumed by States Parties under the Convention. The seminar will focus on:
- the CWC and its status of implementation;
- import and export provisions of the Convention;
- declarations required by the Convention;
- chemical industry verification;
- chemical industry inspections; and
- international cooperation and assistance projects and implementation support programmes.
Other issues to be covered include scheduled chemicals and declarations under Article VI, provisions of the CWC on the transfer of scheduled chemicals, experiences of National Authorities, the Article VI verification regime, the OPCW inspection process and the role of escorts.
