OPCW Deputy Director-General delivering remarks on the Remembrance Armistice Day
The Deputy Director-General Ambassador Hamid Ali Rao, represented the OPCW at the 2015 Remembrance Armistice Day in Ieper, Belgium on Wednesday 11 November. On behalf of the Organisation, he laid a wreath at the Menin Gate Memorial.
During the Academic Session held in Town Hall, Ambassador Rao delivered remarks on the Remembrance Armistice Day, together with Burgomaster Jan Durnez, Mayor of Ieper, and Ambassador Denis Robert of Canada, who spoke on behalf of the Commonwealth. The Deputy Director-General elaborated the importance of today’s event and the special link that the OPCW has with the City of Ieper.
