H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden with the Director-General, Ambassador Ahmet Üzümcü

 

H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden visited the OPCW today and met with the Director-General, Ambassador Ahmet Üzümcü.

 

The Crown Princess and the Director-General discussed a number of issues related to the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention. OPCW staff provided an update on the OPCW’s mission to eliminate the Syrian chemical weapons programme.

The Director-General expressed appreciation to the Government of Sweden for its ongoing support for the work of the OPCW and for its generous contribution to the Syria Trust Fund for destruction of chemical weapons.

“Sweden has always played a significant role in the field of disarmament and continues to make an important contribution to OPCW activities,” said Ambassador Üzümcü.

 

 

The Crown Princess congratulated the OPCW on making important progress in the implementation of the Convention, as well as achieving important results in the Syrian mission.
