Participants at the 3rd natural products chemistry training and development programme held in Malaysia

 

The OPCW and the Universiti Technologi Malaysia organised the third Natural Products Chemistry Training and Development Programme from 12 -28 October 2014 at UTM’s Institute of Bio-product Development in Johor Darul Ta’zim. Participants from industry, academic institutions, and government laboratories in 13 States Parties* of the Asia region attended the training.

 

 

The training programme aims to enhance national capacities of participating States Parties in natural products development. It exposes qualified natural products chemists and scientists to advanced chemical research in natural products, with particular emphasis on value addition through the development of marketable products. The course covers natural product extraction, separation, purification and product development practices.

 

 

The Vice-Chancellor of the Universiti Technologi Malaysia, Professor Datuk IR Dr Wahid Bin Omar, awarded the certificates with the Chairman of the CWC National Authority, Dato’Tan Seng Sung, in attendance.
