The OPCW co-organised the 10th edition of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) Seminar with the RACVIAC Centre for Security Cooperation from 18 to 21 March 2013 in Rakitje, Croatia. The seminar was attended by 26 participants from military and civilian agencies in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia.

The seminar was opened by Brig. Gen. Zdravko Jacop, who highlighted the longstanding cooperation between RACVIAC and the OPCW in his remarks.

The seminar focused on Article X and implementation issues, the OPCW’s capacity building activities, and its role and capabilities in the delivery of assistance and investigations of alleged use.  The seminar also included an overview of verification activities under Article VI together with an exercise related to a Schedule 2 industry inspection.

The seminar provided an opportunity to discuss and raise awareness about the CWC and contributed to enhancing its implementation by States Parties in southeastern Europe. For additional information please visit www.racviac.org
