H.E. Mr. Kanat Saudabayev led a delegation that visited the Technical Secretariat on 29 August 2011 and met with the OPCW Director-General, Ambassador Ahmet Üzümcü. The Secretary of State was briefed on the status of implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention and on current challenges facing the OPCW.
Director-General Üzümcü commended Kazakhstan for its efforts to implement the Chemical Weapons Convention and expressed his appreciation for its support to the work of the OPCW. Mr. Saudabayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to the objectives of the Convention and assured the Director-General of his Government’s continued support. The Director-General and Secretary of State discussed ways for further strengthening cooperation.
