OPCW Director-General Meets Foreign Minister of Estonia

On 2 December 2010, Director-General Ahmet Üzümcü met the Foreign Minister of Estonia, H.E. Mr Urmas Paet, at the OPCW Headquarters in The Hague to discuss issues related to the Chemical Weapons Convention.

In their meeting, the Director-General provided Foreign Minister Paet an update on the status of implementation of the Convention and reviewed some of the immediate challenges facing the OPCW. He commended Estonia for its firm commitment to the Convention and for its support to the work of the OPCW.

The Foreign Minister assured Director-General Üzümcü of Estonia’s continued cooperation with the Organisation and offered Estonia as a venue for the next regional meeting of National Authorities in Eastern Europe.  He also welcomed the Director-General to visit Estonia at his earliest convenience.
