30 November 2009

The ODSVCW and SCWVS are dedicated to informing the public about the horrors of chemical weapons and to providing medical, legal and cultural support for the thousands of Iranians who continue to suffer long-term health effects of exposure to them.

The Organisation for Defending the Sardasht Victims of Chemical Weapons (ODSVCW) together with the Society of Chemical Weapons Victims Support (SCWVS) jointly staged their annual exhibit at the Conference of the States Parties on the effects of chemical weapons used against Iran by the forces of Saddam Hussein during the 1980s conflict.

On 28 June 1987 the Iraqi Air Force attacked Sardasht, a town in the northwest of Iran close to the Iraqi border, with chemical warfare agents. The ODSVCW and SCWVS are dedicated to informing the public about the horrors of chemical weapons and to providing medical, legal and cultural support for the thousands of Iranians who continue to suffer long-term health effects of exposure to them.
