Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria Congratulates the OPCW on its Tenth Anniversary

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the entry into force of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and the establishment of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, H.E. Mr Ivailo Kalfin, conveyed a message of congratulations to the OPCW Technical Secretariat and its Director-General, Ambassador Rogelio Pfirter.

The message from H.E. Mr Ivailo Kalfin stated that, “As this year marks the 10th Anniversary of the entry into force of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on that occasion. The role of the Technical Secretariat and your able guidance of the Organization have been instrumental for the success of the CWC”.

The message further stated that, “Bulgaria, as a committed State Party to the CWC, attaches great importance to its strict implementation and universalization”, and commended the vital role of the Technical Secretariat for the oversight of both.
