Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica visits the OPCW

The Minister of External Affairs of Costa Rica, Mr Manuel Antonio Gonzalez Sanz visited the OPCW on 13 April 2015 and met with the Director-General, Ambassador Ahmet Üzümcü.

The Minister and the Director-General discussed a number of issues related to implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention. The Director-General thanked the Minister for the continued support provided by Costa Rica. He updated on the OPCW’s mission to eliminate the Syrian chemical weapons programme and discussed a number of other initiatives undertaken by the OPCW in the field of international cooperation, assistance and protection, and universality.

Minister Gonzalez Sanz expressed Costa Rica’s full support for the OPCW and reiterated his country’s ongoing commitment to ensuring its success in the future.
