Media Advisory – Nobel Peace Prize

OPCW Director-General Ahmet Üzümcü, and his accompanying delegation (States Parties representatives, former and current OPCW staff members, and other officials), have arrived in Oslo, Norway in order to receive the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize on Tuesday 10 December.

  • On Monday 9 December, the Director-General will give a press conference, starting at 1 pm. This press conference is organized by the Nobel Committee which will take care of all necessary arrangements, including accreditation.

  • On Tuesday 10 December, the official award ceremony in Oslo City Hall will take place between 1 pm and 2.15 pm. It will be broadcast live on the OPCW website at www.opcw.org, courtesy of Norwegian NRK television.
  • Later on Tuesday 10 December, Director-General Ahmet Üzümcü will be the guest of CNN International: an exclusive programme hosted by Jonathan Mann.
  • On Wednesday 11 December, OPCW Director-General Ahmet Üzümcü will open a special photo exhibition about the Organisation at the Nobel Peace Center, in Oslo. The opening is scheduled at 4.30 p.m.
