Inspectorate Management Branch

The Inspectorate Management Branch (IMB) is part of the Inspectorate Division (INS) of the OPCW.

The core activities of the Branch are as follows:

  • Providing administrative, financial, and project support to the Director of the Inspectorate and Inspectors who perform OPCW inspections in the area of Chemical Weapons (including Investigations of Alleged Use and Challenge Inspections) and Industry.

INS Project Coordination (IPC) activities are as follows:

  • Respond to Executive Council (EC) decisions or mandates, change management initiatives, and changes in the Science and Chemical industry.
  • Identify divisional improvements for streamlining current programs or new initiatives which will enhance the overall inspection programs’ effectiveness and efficiency. 
  • Manage the coordination of projects with guidance from the Director pertaining to the overall approval and direction of Inspectorate programs or projects.
  • Provide management analysis or advice on the optimal success of a program/project.  Ensure outcomes of a project’s success will be useful to the division and the organization.
  • Minimize project budget overruns or work stoppage for long-term projects.
  • Prepare monthly reports and maintain the INS Project Coordination portal.

Qualifications
Internship candidates should preferably have a background in at least one of the following fields: Chemistry, Engineering, Computer Science, Masters Business Administration, or working on a master’s degree in one of the above fields.

Duration/working hours
You may set the duration of the internship based on your availability, from a minimum of 2 months to a maximum of 6 months. The actual hours to be worked will be agreed between you and your supervisor, and shall not exceed 40 hours per week.
