Industry Inspection Cell (IIC)

Industry Inspection Cell (IIC) is the cell in charge of Team Leaders and Inspectors doing Industry inspections covered by Article VI of the Convention. The IIC also provides technical advice and support to other cells inside Inspectorate, as well as other units in the Technical Secretariat (TS), to include training, conferences and other activities, if requested by the Director of Inspectorate (DOI) and/or by the Director General (DG).

Core functions of IIC:

  • Coordination of activities and management of the performance of Mission Leaders and Inspectors for Article VI inspections;
  • Support and lead critical inspections under Articles V and VI of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), as well as some contingency operations (according to responsibility in industrial area;
  • To undertake any special duties and tasks as directed by the DG.
  • Internship assignments:
  • Support IIC on web-based on-going projects;
  • Support to other administrative activities;
  • Support in searching on open sources of information to supplement on-going projects.

Internship requirements:

Academic

Applicants should have a completed or in progress, an academic background preferably in at least one of the following fields: 

  • Chemical Engineering; 
  • Industrial Chemistry;
  • Knowledge Management, Sharing Knowledge;
  • Administration.

Experience 

  • Web design and web development;
  • Knowledge sharing, knowledge management projects.    

Skills and knowledge 

  • Cornerstone and SharePoint software;
  • Quality Management;
  • Good English writing skills;
  • Microsoft office package;
  • Chemical Engineering;
  • Analytical Chemistry and Health and Safety issues related to chemical industry will be an advantage.

Language proficiency 

  • Fluency in English is essential;
  • A good working knowledge of one or more of the OPCW official languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is desirable.

Internship period:

Duration
 
The internship is offered on a full time basis, for a minimum of three (3) months and normally up to a maximum of six (6) months.

Working hours

The internship working hours shall not exceed forty (40) hours per week.
