Human Resources Branch

The mission of the Human Resources Branch (HRB) is to provide and sustain a quality Human Resources Management System to ensure that the Technical Secretariat can fulfil its functions efficiently and effectively.

 

 

Role of HRB
The role of HRB is to provide Human Resources services across the Secretariat:

  • Support for workforce planning and recruitment of personnel to meet requirements.
  • Provision of integrated human resources services to managers and staff members in relation to performance management, conflict and dispute resolution, grievances, and disciplinary cases.
  • Administration of entitlements and benefits payable to the Secretariat's workforce.

Duties
The internship will allow the candidate to gain valuable experience in the area of Recruitment or Human Resources Services.

In Recruitment, interns will learn about recruitment planning and support in international organisations, they will also assist with outreach and improvement of the employment website, and assist the Human Resources Officer administer and plan recruitment and staffing activities.

In Human Resources Services, the intern will gain experience in policy issues within the organisation, learn research techniques, assist in preparing reports, statistics and presentations as well as take part in projects related to HR Policy development and implementation. The successful intern will also compile information and assist in the research for the section.

Qualifications
Interns interested in this role should have a background in Social Sciences, Human Resources, International Business or Psychology. Prior work experience in the field of HR is preferable but not a prerequisite. Good working knowledge of MS office is required and proficiency in English.

The placement will be for a duration of 3-6 months.

Duration/working hours
You may set the duration of the internship based on your availability, from a minimum of 3 months to a maximum of 6 months. The actual hours to be worked will be agreed between you and your supervisor, and shall not exceed 40 hours per week.
