OPCW Director-General Pfirter Receives National Legislation in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Comprehensive Implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention Adopted by the Argentine Republic

In the course of their meeting at the Argentine Foreign Ministry in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Head of the Argentine National Authority, Minister Antonio Isso, presented the Director-General of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemicals Weapons (OPCW), Ambassador Rogelio Pfirter, a copy of the National Law 26247, which implements the provisions of the Chemicals Weapons Convention (CWC) in the territories of the Argentine Republic.

The Director-General praised the National Authorities’ and the Argentine Parliament’s efforts that have culminated in the adoption of comprehensive legislation in accordance with the CWC’s requirements.
