Our office was then located at Laan van Meerdeervoort. All of us were excited as news about the ratification of the Chemical Weapons Convention by Hungary was announced, thus completing the required number of state parties to sign the treaty and bring the convention into force. For us it meant that the work done by the preparatory commission will be put into action and the dream of chemical weapons free world would soon be fulfilled.

It has been 10 years since I left OPCW; still that day remains fresh in memory.
