H.E. Dr Mrs Nimota Nihinlola Akanbi (Nigeria)
H.E. Dr Mrs Nimota Nihinlola Akanbi, Permanent Representative of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons presented her credentials to OPCW Director-General, Ambassador Rogelio Pfirter, on 30 May 2008. She is concurrently accredited Nigeria Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Ambassador Akanbi is an Educationist and prior to her present position, was the Principal of the Queen Elizabeth School in Ilorin, Govt. Day Secondary School in Alore and Govt. Girls Day Secondary School in Okesuna. Ambassador Akanbi was Vice Principal of the Government Day Secondary School, Kulende (1999), prior to which she was the Head of the Business Department for the Government Secondary School, Ilorin from 1991 to 1998.
Ambassador Akanbi was the examiner for the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB). Ambassador Akanbi was the State Secretary for all Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) and was the National Vice-Chairman, North Central Zone of all Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools. She is also Fellow and President, Association of Business Educators.
Ambassador Akanbi has written several publications which include, Relationship between Vice Chancellors Leadership Behaviour on Academic Staff Effectiveness in Nigerian Universities, in 2004 and Correlates of Goal Achievement in some Secondary Schools in Ilorin Local Government, Area of Kwara State in 1996.
Ambassador Akanbi received in Nigeria the Presidential Award of best School Administrator in 2007.
Ambassador Akanbi holds a PhD (2004) and Masters (1996) in Education Management from the University of Ilorin. She received a Bachelor Degree in Business Education from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1985.
