H.E. Mrs Miranda Sidran-Kamišalić (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

H.E. Mrs Miranda Sidran-Kamišalić, the Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the OPCW, presented her credentials to the Director-General on 9 October 2008. She is concurrently accredited as her country’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Ambassador Sidran-Kamišalić, a career diplomat, was prior to her present assignment Charge d’Affaires, Head of Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Council of Europe, Strasbourg, France from 2004 to October 2005. Ambassador Sidran-Kamišalic was also the Counsellor, Deputy Head of Mission to the Council of Europe, Strasbourg, France.

The important positions Ambassador Sidran-Kamišalić held within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina included Minister Counsellor and Spokesperson (2002 – 2004), Deputy Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1997 – 1999), Press and Cultural Attaché (1994 – 1996), and Assistant in the Department for Multilateral Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo (1993 – 1994).

Ambassador Sidran-Kamišalić earlier on in her career had her diplomatic postings at the Embassies of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the UK, London, from 1999 to 2002, and Croatia, Zagreb, from 1994 to1996.

Ambassador Sidran-Kamišalić is fluent in English and speaks French and Albanian, but also has a passive knowledge of Italian and Spanish. Ambassador Sidran-Kamišalić holds a bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature and Librarianship from the Department of Philology, University of Sarajevo (1987 – 1991).
