H.E. Mr. Mamour A. Jagne (The Gambia)

H.E. Mr Mamour A. Jagne, Permanent Representative of the Republic of the Gambia to the OPCW

H.E. Mr. Mamour Alieu Jagne, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Gambia to the OPCW, presented his credentials to the Director-General on 30 January, 2009. He is concurrently accredited as his country’s Ambassador to several European countries, and is the Gambia’s Permanent Representative to the European Union, the World Trade Organisation and the International Criminal Court.

Mr. Jagne graduated in General Agriculture at the Njala University in Sierra Leone, and obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Development and a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics, both at the Wye College in London. Mr. Jagne’s most recent appointments include:

• Team Leader (Programme Specialist), Poverty, Disaster, Energy and Environment, and the MDGs, UNDP The Gambia (2006 – 2008);
• Programme Analyst, Energy and Environmnet at the UNDP in The Gambia (2005 - 2006);
• National Project Coordinator, Capacity 2015 Project at the UNDP (2003 - 2005);
• Deputy Director, Capacity Building for Economic Management Project at the World Bank (2001 – 2003);
• Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Rural Finance and Community Initiatives Project at the IFAD (1999 - 2001).

Mr. Jagne also served as the Vice-President of the UN Staff Association in The Gambia.
