The Government of Poland and the OPCW jointly organized the 2nd Specialized Course on Sampling and Analysis in Highly Contaminated Environments from 12 to 16 May 2014 in the city of Czestochowa for 19  participants from 17 States Parties.*

The course relates to Article X of the Chemical Weapons Convention and offered theoretical knowledge in the use of individual protective equipment, including the use of a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). Comprehensive practical training in scenarios of growing complexity familiarised participants with chemical, biomedical and environmental sampling techniques.

The course facilitated an exchange of information and experience on Article X implementation and discussion of areas of potential cooperation among participating Member States.
