Internship opportunities in the Training, Development and Results-Based Management Branch (TD&RBM)
The OPCW invests time and resources into ensuring that all staff continue to receive training to improve skills and knowledge throughout their time with the organisation. The aim of the Training and Development Branch is to build the skills and abilities of employees in order to maximise the contribution of each staff member to the achievement of organisational objectives and - ultimately – ensure the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention.
The Branch achieves this by coordinating and delivering high quality training across the organisation, promoting the adoption of Results-Based Management and, in partnership with internal training providers, maximising the impact of training undertaken by OPCW staff through improving delivery methods and efficiency. The branch also manages the OPCW library, a unique resource supporting knowledge acquisition throughout the organisation.
The successful candidate will gain an understanding of the functioning of the branch by providing support in several areas. These include the coordination and implementation of internal training events as well as preparing learning materials for training events, updating the intranet site and in peak times offering support in the OPCW library.
Interns interested in this role should have at least an intermediate understanding of MS Office programmes and good communication skills. An advanced level of written and spoken English is essential, and knowledge of another OPCW language is desirable.
The placement will be from September,2011 until the 23rd December.
