How to Apply

Application Procedure

A prospective intern who meets the eligibility requirements, and the criteria outlined, and who wishes to be considered for an OPCW internship must submit a duly-completed OPCW application in accordance with the application procedures. 

 

(a) Applications for interns will be accepted three times a year
    i. Around March for internships commencing anywhere between May-September,  
    ii. Around July for internships commencing anywhere between September – December,
    iii. Around November for internships commencing anywhere between January – April.
An overlap from one term to the next may occur as most requesting branches normally place interns for a maximum period of 6 months.
(b) Only short-listed applicants will be notified of acceptance.
(c) Applications will not be accepted outside of the above-mentioned dates. Dates for accepting applications will be indicated on the OPCW website and the HRB portal.
(d) Applications will be submitted electronically by completion of an Internship Personal History Form through the OPCW website.

How to Apply

In order to apply for internships, you must follow this link which will direct you to the Jobs section of the website. Under General Service vacancies you will be able to view the Internship notice indicating the description, various opportunities, term, and the dates until when the applications will be accepted.

 

Steps in applying for internships:

  1. Register and create an account under the jobs section.
  2. If you already have an account, login here.
  3. Log in and complete the Personal History Form (PHF)
  4. Find the internship announcement under General Service vacancies and proceed to apply. Note: you will only be able to proceed to apply if all required fields have been filled in correctly in the PHF.
  5. Read all screening questions carefully and answer them correctly. Note: without answering all screening questions, you cannot proceed to apply.
  6. Finally fill out the section on cover letter. Note: all applicants are required to fill in the cover letter

Any applications sent outside of the internship notice period or before will not be considered. Incomplete applications will also not be considered. A short phone interview may take place to determine the eligibility of the candidate for the internship programme at OPCW.

Internship applications are currently not being accepted. A new internship notice will be posted on our website with further details on the requirements and duties of the programme in July 2014. Any applications sent to internships@opcw.org will not be accepted as all applicants are encouranged to apply according to the procedures indicated above.
