NOTE BY THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL
KHARTOUM, SUDAN

1. The Director-General wishes to inform Member States that the workshop on the universality and implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention (hereinafter the Convention), which was originally scheduled to take place in Khartoum, the Sudan, from 4 6 March 2002 (Note by the Director-General S/285/2002, dated 2 January 2002), has now been re-scheduled for 9 11 March 2002, in order to avoid potential conflicts with other regional meetings taking place in the Sudan which coincide with the original dates for the workshop.
2. In light of the above-mentioned changes, participants are now expected to arrive in Khartoum on 8 March 2002, and will depart on 12 March 2002. All other relevant information contained in Note S/285/2002 of 2 January 2002 remains valid, including the provisional programme.
3. States Parties to the Convention, as well as States not party in Africa and the Middle East, are reminded to submit the names of those individuals they have selected for participation to the Secretariat not later than Monday 4 February 2002, using the nomination form annexed to this Note. The completed nomination form should be addressed to the Director, External Relations Division, OPCW, Johan de Wittlaan 32, 2517 JR The Hague, the Netherlands. Nominations may also be submitted by fax (+31-(0)-70-306-3535), or by e-mail (GovRelationsBr@opcw.org). It is important that all the details requested on the form be provided, and that the form is fully filled in, so that the Secretariat can communicate directly with the proposed participants. Please be advised that an OPCW acceptance letter is a prerequisite for registration.
