NOTE BY THE SECRETARIAT

2001 AUDIT OF THE SECURE CRITICAL NETWORK

1.                  Each year, the Secretariat invites interested States Parties to nominate qualified experts to take part in an audit of the Secure Critical Network, which is used to process and store verification-related data held by the Secretariat in electronic form.

2.                  The invitation to participate in the 2001 audit was issued in June 2001 (S/263/2001, dated 25 June 2001). Member States were invited at that time to submit to the Secretariat by 31 July 2001 the names of auditors whom they were proposing as candidates for participation in this audit.  By 31 July 2001, five member states nominated a total of seven auditors.  The following experts will therefore undertake the 2001 audit of the Secure Critical Network in
October 2001:
