OPCW Media Advisory

One third of the Member States of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) have concurred with the request of a Member State to convene the First Special Session of the Conference of the States Parties.

The special session will be held, in accordance with the rules of procedure of the Conference of the States Parties, within 30 days after it was requested.  The special session will commence on Sunday, 21 April 2002, in The Hague, at the Netherlands Congress Centre, with an expected duration of two to three days.
