TABLES FOR EQUIPMENT APPLICABILITY FOR THE VARIOUS TYPES OF INSPECTIONS
1. In accordance with Paragraph 29 of Part II of the Verification Annex, the aim of the inspection of the inspection team equipment at the point of entry (POE) by the inspected State Party is to check the identity of the equipment brought in or removed from the territory of the inspected State Party, and to ascertain that the equipment meets the description of the approved equipment for the particular type of inspection.
2. There is a need to identify, from the approved list, the specific equipment to be used in the various types of inspections.
3. The following tables provide the means to facilitate the above:
Legend:
Types of Inspections:
(a) Inspections of declared stocks of chemical weapons;
(b) Inspection of destruction of chemical stocks;
(c) Inspection of chemical weapons production facilities;
(d) Inspection of chemical non-declared facilities (industrial);
(e) Investigation into alleged use of chemical weapons;
(f) Investigation of old/abandoned stocks of chemical weapons;
(g) Inspection of non-declared non chemical facilities.
Applicability of Equipment:
1. "a" - approved;
2. "m" - need to be modified;
3. "na" - not applicable;
4. "nc" - not approved, confidentiality restrictions;
5. "ns" - not approved, safety restrictions;
6. "nr" - not recommended, very low cost/effectiveness.
Types of Equipment:
1. Table 1 and Table 2 - all equipment approved for all types of inspections;
2. Table 3 and Table 4 include various definitions.
