NOTE BY THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY

SENIOR APPOINTMENTS

            The Executive Secretary wishes to bring to the attention of Member States two changes in the staffing of the Secretariat at the D1 level which will make it necessary for him to make recommendations for new appointments to the Commission at its Tenth Session.

            Mr. LI Chang-he, Deputy Executive Secretary, resigned with effect from 6 February 1995 in order to return to the service of the Chinese Government.

            Mr. Reuben LEV, Director of Administration, intends to retire from the Secretariat at the expiry of his present contract on 31 May 1995.

            The Executive Secretary is engaged in consultations with the Chairman of the Commission, the Coordinators of the Regional Groups and individual delegations in order to identify suitable candidates for these posts whose nomination by the Executive Secretary could command the support of the Commission.
