Mohamed Louati was born on 31 July 1947 in Tunisia. He has twenty six years of experience in management of business and factories with governmental companies. He holds a law degree from the University of Tunis and a National Administration School Diploma. He is a graduate with a Political Science Diploma from the Sorbonne (France). He has taught Administrative Law in Tunisia.
Mohamed Louati began his career in the general Finance Verification Division in the Ministry of Finance of Tunisia as an Inspector. For five years his responsibilities were to investigate, control, monitor and report to the Finance Minister on the management of governmental companies. He has audited a number of private companies that have had advantages and exemptions from taxes of the Tunisian state.
He has held important assignments as general manager of public companies, especially in the area of transport. From 1982 to 1985 he served as Road Transport Technical Director in the Ministry of Transport. He has been actively involved in the restructuring of this area looking for the efficiency and the effectiveness of each action.
He was promoted by the Tunisian government as Prefect of Sidi Bouzid region from 1993 to 1995. He has also served as general manager to the Tunisian Sulfur Refinery.
Mohamed Louati was elected in 1980 as Vice-President of Jaycees International, an international organisation of the Economic Chamber. He was responsible for the development of this organisation in the Middle East and for the directing of Training in African countries.
Mohamed Louati is married with two children.
