STATEMENTS MADE DURING THE GENERAL DEBATE OF THE

FOURTH SESSION OF THE CONFERENCE OF THE STATES PARTIES

During the General Debate of the Fourth Session of the Conference of the States Parties, representatives of States Parties made statements, copies of most of which were subsequently made available to the Technical Secretariat.

The Secretariat now wishes to issue those statements as an addendum to the report of the Fourth Session, but wishes to provide those States whose representatives spoke during the General Debate with an opportunity to submit edited versions of their statements. These statements should be submitted in the language in which they were delivered to the Conference. If the statement was made in an official language of the Conference other than English, it will be translated by the Secretariat into English. Statements made in a language other than one of the official languages of the Conference should be submitted in one of the official languages.

Delegations are requested to provide the Secretariat with a clean copy of their statements to arrive no later than 15 September 1999 addressed to the attention of the Secretary to the Policy-Making Organs. If copies are not submitted, statements will be issued as originally given to the Secretariat.
