SCOPE OF THE TERM "ALKYL" IN THE SCHEDULES OF CHEMICALS
The Conference
Recalling that the Commission, in its PC-VII/8, paragraph 6.6, adopted
an understanding on the scope of the term "alkyl" in the Schedules of Chemicals
(paragraph 3.1 of
PC-VII/B/WP.7),
Bearing in mind that the Commission recommended in paragraph 50.4 of its Final Report that the Conference adopt the above mentioned understanding,
Hereby:
Adopts the following understanding:
In relation to the groups of chemicals ("families") listed in the Schedules
of Chemicals, the terms 'alkyl', 'cycloalkyl', 'alkylated' or 'Me' (methyl),
'Et' (ethyl), 'n-Pr' (n-propyl) or
'i-Pr' (isopropyl) are to be understood literally, i.e. as not including any
substituted
alkyl, methyl, ethyl, etc.
