Western European and Other States (WEOG) has twenty-nine Members. All signatory states of this region have deposited their instruments of ratification or accession.
The Group designates ten members of the Executive Council. From 12 May 2005 to 11 May 2006, the following are the Member States of the Western European and Other States Group to the Executive Council: France, Greece, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United States of America.
* This grouping is unofficial and is based on the listing in the United Nations Handbook 1995 which takes into account UN General Assembly Resolutions 1991 (XVIII) of 1963 and 33/138 of 1978. The groupings are under review and will be updated based on the situation prevailing on the ground in the context of the OPCW in the near future but will remain unofficial till a decision is reached on this issue at the United Nations in New York. The OPCW does not take any responsibility for errors or omissions in this regard.
