VI. Security

Security badges for the Conference will be issued to all delegates at time of check-in at the registration desk. Delegates holding an OPCW security badge will also be issued a special badge specifically for Conference purposes. Security badges must be worn at all times in the Conference area and will be required as identification at official OPCW venues other than the NCC.

Delegates attending the Conference are advised that metal detection and X-ray equipment will be installed at all points of entry to the Conference venue and that all delegates will be required to pass through security screening each time they enter the area.

The Technical Secretariat appreciates that these security measures may cause some inconvenience but asks for the understanding of delegates as these measures are introduced in the interest of ensuring the security of all Conference attendees.

Restrictions may also be in place on the use of cellular telephones, radio transmitters, recording devices and camera equipment inside certain Conference areas at the NCC and other venues. Notices to this effect will be clearly posted for the convenience of delegates whenever such restrictions are in effect.

An on-site security office will attend to any security or emergency situations during the Conference. Delegates are advised to contact the security staff on duty in the NCC or to call the OPCW Security Control Centre at telephone number (070) 416-3315 from one of the brown telephones within the NCC.

For emergency assistance delegates should call telephone number (070) 416-3333 from a brown NCC telephone or directly contact external emergency services (dial 112 on an external line).
