Non-governmental organisations, including industry representatives and industry associations which have an interest in the activities of the OPCW and wish to attend the Conference, should apply to the Media and Public Affairs Branch of the Technical Secretariat, preferably before 1 October 2003. They may be invited (subject to the decision of the Conference) to attend public meetings of the Plenary of the Conference.

An advisory note for non-governmental organisations has been posted on the OPCW website (http://www.opcw.org/csp8/html/ngo_advisory.html). It outlines the procedure for applying to attend the Conference, and contains a link to the relevant application form. Applications should include a description of those activities of the non-governmental organisations that are relevant to the purpose of the Chemical Weapons Convention, and should indicate its sources of funding.
