H.E. Mrs Oksana Tomová, Permanent Representative of the Slovak Republic to the OPCW

H.E. Mrs Oksana Tomová, the Permanent Representative of the Slovak Republic to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, presented her credentials to the OPCW Director-General, Ambassador Rogelio Pfirter, on 9 March 2006. She is concurrently accredited as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Ambassador Tomová served in the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Prague, Czechoslovakia, in the Institute for International Relations, West European Department from 1988 to 1992. In 1993, she joined the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Department of International Economic Cooperation for one year, following which, she was appointed Director of the Department of the UN and International Organizations from 1995 to 1999. Ambassador Tomová was posted to the Permanent Mission of Slovakia to the UN and other international organizations in Vienna, holding the rank of Deputy Permanent Representative from 1999 to 2003. Ambassador Tomová then was appointed Director of the Department of the UN and International Organizations from 2003 to 2006. Ambassador Tomová received a PhD in International Economic Relations from the University of Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Russia in 1987.
