Visiting the OPCW

One of the best ways to learn about the history, purpose and implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention is to visit our headquarters in The Hague. Each year we host scores of group visits by students and academics, diplomats, parliamentarians, policy experts, military officials and others, who receive in-depth briefings and presentations on the work of the Organisation. We also encourage interested residents of The Hague to visit the OPCW on Open Day, which is held each year in conjunction with the UN Day of Peace.

If you wish to visit the OPCW to learn more about the Organisation or to attend an event, please inquire with the Media and Public Relations Branch by calling +31 70 416 3722 or writing media@opcw.org with your inquiry.

  • Visitors must have a valid photo ID and appear on the visitor list at reception. There is no vehicle entry allowed for visitors.
  • Entry for disabled/handicapped individuals can be facilitated and will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
  • No parking is permissible in front of the OPCW building -- any unattended vehicle will be towed.
  • Prohibited items will not be allowed into the building and will be confiscated. Visitors should avoid backpacks or large purses.
